Dear friends, family, and supporters,

We are reaching out to you again during one of the most challenging times of our lives. As most everyone knows, my husband Kelly Scott was diagnosed with cancer on March 23rd of this year. He had two surgeries and the doctors told us there was an 80% chance he was completely in the clear. He was supposed to have follow up scans in October just to be safe, but we didn't make it that far.

Kelly found a large lump in his abdomen Saturday the 21st of September and went to the ER where they did a CT scan and found out there were many tumors in his abdomen. Unfortunately, the cancer had spread aggressively fast in about 3 months time. The doctor said there were too many to count of varying sizes but the largest one is 10x10 cm. Most are in the abdomen cavity, along with his liver and lungs.

We saw his oncologist urgently September 24th and even the oncologist said he and his surgeon have never seen a case like this and that Kelly needed to start treatment ASAP. So here we are only a couple of days before the treatment begins. He will be going through four cycles of chemotherapy, which consists of about 3 months, five days a week for six hour days of infusions. After he is done with chemotherapy it's possible he will need more surgeries and treatment.

His family and medical team have been utterly blindsided by this. We could once again use any and all help while we go through the hardest part of this. I will be looking into getting discounted hotel stays near the hospital through the American Cancer Society and UCSD partners, so Kelly won't have to be in the car for over and hour each way everyday. I will also have to cut back my hours once again to help take care of my husband and drive him to treatments. I am at a loss and I am so afraid yet hopeful of what the future will bring. I am devastated but know between the love I have for my husband and the love his family, friends and supporters have that he WILL get through this and we WILL be celebrating clear scans soon.

I love you all, and I cannot thank you enough from the absolute bottom of my heart for helping us, taking a load off of us, and loving us with everything you have. I am so grateful for our family and community.
