Support Needed After Duncan’s Battle With Cancer
Donation protected
Hi my name is Kelly Lyons and I’m fundraising in memory of my beloved cat Duncan.
First and foremost thank you for taking the time to read this if you have gotten this far. This is really humbling to ask for help. My baby boy Duncan was diagnosed in March of this year with Cancer. And lost his battle on May 2. This devastating lost has left me depleted. When I first found out he had a mass in his bladder, was when I experienced him bleeding out of his urethrae and thought he was hemorrhaging from the urinalysis performed earlier that day. I had just moved so I didn’t have a vet I had been working with which left my anxiety high. When the bleeding subsided and the doctor aspirated his tumor the results came back inconclusive leaving me to scramble more in hopes that I could find a cure to save my baby boy. As the days continued I became more distraught. I was missing a ton of work afraid to leave him because I was afraid he was going to bleed. With him having a mass in his bladder he could have blocked at anytime causing him to die a painful death. The hardest part about any of this is that he didn’t look and wasn’t acting sick at all which gave me hope that maybe the tumor was benign.
Duncan was more than just a cat—he was my baby boy. For 12 years, he was my daily source of comfort, laughter, and unconditional love. Whether it was curling up next to me during hard days or greeting me at the door with his sweet purrs, Duncan had a gentle soul that left a mark on everyone who met him.
If you know me you know my cats are my life. The emotional loss has been incredibly hard, but so have the unexpected expenses that came with his illness and passing. I’m asking for support to help cover:
Veterinary bills,End-of-life care and Rent
One of my biggest concerns as well is if any of my other cats (mostly Maggie, Duncan’s littermate sister who was left behind) were to get sick I would not be able to care for her.
If you’re able to donate, even a small amount, it would mean so much. And if you can’t give, simply sharing this link would help more than you know.
Duncan gave me a kind of love that I’ll carry with me forever. They are all special but he was my heart. Thank you for helping me honor his memory in this time of loss.
With love and gratitude
