Stand by Kelly in Her Cancer Journey
Donation protected
After what was supposed to be a routine eye exam, Kelly was faced with the dreaded words of being told she has cancer.
On Feb 20, 2025 Kelly was diagnosed with choroidal melanoma. It’s a tumor in the tissue in the back of her eye. It’s considered rare, and large in size (3.8 mm by 19.1 mm). She was referred to a specialist at the University of Iowa, and then further referred to Northwestern in Chicago.
The last couple of weeks have been a rollercoaster as you can imagine. She has had lots of driving and hotel expenses and multiple testing done (CT, MRI, Ultrasound , bloodwork, and many others!)
She will soon be starting plaque brachytherapy at Northwestern. Because of the size of the tumor, Kelly will have the plaque implanted in the back of her eye for 7 days. After the 7 days they will surgically remove the plaque, and discuss all further treatments at that time.
You might know Kelly from her endless acts of kindness of helping everyone else. She's put on several benefits for those who fought cancer, and has helped several families during those cancer battles by supporting them with food, visits , chores, help with kids, etc She also has been a part of the Adopt a pal dog rescue for years where she has fostered thousands of dogs. She has a heart of Gold , and continuously has always showed up for her community, friends , and family.
It's now time for us to show up for her, and help by donating to help relieve the financial burden that we all know cancer gives us. Any help is appreciated, I know she appreciates it as well!
A benefit will be happening as well in her honor , dates yet TBD.
Thank you for your support!!
