Support Kelly in her breast cancer journey

Meet our friend Kelly Holwell. She is a 33-year-old artistic, fun-loving and kind daughter, sister, auntie and friend. In her role as a medical secretary, she helps patients battling skin cancer on a daily basis.

About a month ago, Kelly noticed that her left nipple was inverted and knew something wasn't right. She quickly notified her doctor, who referred her for testing. The next day, Kelly had a mammogram, but it did not show any abnormalities; however, it was noted that her breast tissue was very dense, so an ultrasound was recommended. The ultrasound found a suspicious mass in her left breast. A biopsy was performed, which ultimately led to a cancer diagnosis.

Given her family history of breast cancer, she made the very difficult and courageous decision to undergo a double mastectomy. She plans to follow up with breast reconstruction if all goes as planned - pending lymph node biopsy results and treatment plans post-surgery. 

This fundraiser is to help support Kelly with her medical costs. She will be out of work for most of her recovery time. She will continue to be monitored and will have ongoing expenses over the next 5 years.
