Support Kelly Hicks' Battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis
Donation protected
My name is Kelly Hicks, and I have been very recently diagnosed with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis, a progressive illness that thickens and stiffens lung tissue, eventually forming scar tissue. The damage becomes progressively worse as time goes on, eventually reaching a point at which lung transplantation is recommended.
In the past 3 1/2 months, I have had two weeklong hospitalizations as the doctors had been trying to narrow down my diagnosis.
The pulmonologist and my primary care doctor are strongly recommending I apply for disability. Since I was looking for work at the time I was hospitalized, I am seeking financial help to get along until disability payments are awarded, which could take another year at minimum.
I humbly ask for your help to reach my financial goal so I can survive until disability is awarded. It would be much appreciated.
