Kelly Ford and his family are loved by many and are a huge part of our beloved Bridge Creek community. Kelly is self-employed, running his own small business, and is always there to support other local businesses. The Fords are active in the community, attending most sporting events to cheer on the kids, even though their own son, Kaleb, has already graduated from Bridge Creek. There isn’t a fundraiser Kelly wouldn’t support, and Neva is an active board member, always striving to better the lives of the children in our area.
Kelly is also deeply involved with the Oklahoma Outreach Foundation, a volunteer-only nonprofit that provides disabled, chronically, and terminally ill individuals the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. This organization has been a blessing to both Kelly and Kaleb, as well as many others in the community.
In late 2023, Kelly was diagnosed with Melanoma. After months of treatment, he was finally nearing remission, but just as hope was returning, new spots appeared on his leg. His oncologist confirmed the worst: the cancer had returned as stage 4 and was spreading aggressively. Recently, Kelly underwent an MRI to assess the extent of the cancer. During the procedure, he suffered a severe allergic reaction to the contrast dye, requiring two minutes of CPR and emergency intubation. He is currently in the hospital, fighting to recover and open his airway. The next step in his journey is to get to MD Anderson, where he has the best chance at beating Melanoma once and for all.
As Kelly is self-employed and the primary breadwinner, the financial strain is overwhelming. Funds raised will help support the family as they travel to MD Anderson, cover mounting medical bills, and—most importantly—go toward paying off their home. Relieving the burden of their mortgage will allow Kelly and his family to focus on what matters most: his recovery. Please keep Kelly, Neva, and Kaleb in your prayers. Any support you can offer will help this loving family through an incredibly difficult time. Your generosity will make a real difference in their lives.
