Support Kelly Flynn's Battle Against Breast Cancer

Hi Everyone,

My name is Samantha Giordano and I am starting this GoFundMe on behalf of my sister, Kelly Flynn, who is battling breast cancer.

This past September, Kelly received life-changing news: she was diagnosed with breast cancer, stage 2a, as the cancer has spread to nearby lymph nodes. It’s news no one should ever have to hear. Kelly is a loving mother to two young children, Harper and Levi, and a devoted wife to her husband, Jason.

As you can imagine, this diagnosis has turned their world upside down. Kelly and her family are now trying to navigate their new reality, doing their best to maintain a sense of normalcy while balancing jobs, caring for their young children, and facing the challenges of aggressive cancer treatment.

Her positive impact on so many people is incredible, and now, as she faces this immense challenge, her strength and resilience continue to inspire those around her. During this time of great need for her and her family, Kelly has continued to work full-time through five months of chemotherapy. However, Kelly is scheduled to have major surgery this spring, followed by radiation therapy. Kelly will also need at least a second surgery in the fall, requiring additional time away from work. These appointments and surgeries are all out of state, adding to the list of logistical and expenses associated with Kelly’s cancer battle.

Jason, a federal Park Ranger, until recently has been able to telework to assist Kelly with recovery. Moving forward, he will no longer be able to care for her after treatment and surgery without missing work. Although we can’t take away all their stress, we want to help ease their financial burden due to the additional costs of medical expenses, countless medical appointments, and time away from work.

In addition to any monetary contribution, Kelly has expressed gratitude for receiving emails, messages, and phone calls. Please do not hesitate to reach out to her and Jay. It means a lot and is appreciated.

Kelly and Jason have worked hard to maintain stability for their children, sharing only necessary, age-appropriate information. We kindly ask that everyone be mindful and refrain from discussing her diagnosis in front of their young children, allowing them to continue to navigate this difficult time with as much normalcy as possible.
