Support Kelly Davis' Long Road to Recovery
Donation protected
The family of Kelly Davis is asking for financial support to help cover her extensive medical costs, including a private pay nurse for 3 to 6 months, in addition to an extensive list of equipment including a special tilt in space wheelchair, Hi-Low adjustable hospital bed, tilt in space shower chair, Hoyer advanced power patient lift, portable wheelchair ramps, special wraps to stabilize blood pressure, and so much more we are still learning about and that are not covered by health insurance.
Here is her story...
On August 1, 2024, while asleep in her bed, Kelly Tenney Davis' was a victim of a brutal crime that has left her with life-altering injuries. At 2 AM, a pickup truck crashed through her bedroom wall, catapulting her across the room throwing her into a stone wall. A horrifying situation made even worse when it was discovered that it was her own father who committed this heinous crime against her.
Kelly's injuries are extensive, including a brain bleed, 14 fractures, and a severe spinal cord injury. Despite an extensive spine surgery and nearly two weeks in intensive care, Kelly's injuries have left her with no feeling or movement below the waist.
Her road to recovery is long, and despite her optimism and the support of her family, she may never regain her ability to walk.
Kelly’s health insurance company has informed her that they will kick her out of the rehab facility as soon as September 4. This is quite unexpected as she was originally told she would be there for 6-8 weeks until she healed further and learned the essential skills to live at home. Instead, she is being kicked out before she is equipped with those skills (ability to move from bed to wheelchair, etc).
