Assist with Linda’s funeral and support for her girls

Linda passed away on April 4th, 2025. She had been diagnosed with lung cancer in 2021. For years, she fought hard to keep moving forward. Unfortunately, the cancer had metastasized and her body quickly took a turn for the worse the end of 2024.

Linda was in a facility for the last few months of her life. Her Medicaid had termed and due to the lack of support from the facility, she had difficulty getting the Medicaid reinstated. She could not do it alone due to her health decline and there was only so much any of her family could do.

Linda had a gofundme that was set to pay for her medical bills and funeral. Whatever was left over, would go to her girls, Kelly and Erin, who are both in college. Linda was a single mom.

Unfortunately, Linda maxed out her Medicare at the facility and being she had no Medicaid, she had to pay out of pocket for her having to live there for her end of life. Last week, while Linda lay in bed dying, the facility strong-armed Linda into paying them $18,259 that was in the account from the gofundme she had. They left $158.81 in the account for Linda to keep.

Less than a week after transferring the money to the facility, Linda lost her battle and here we are left with $158.81 to pay for Linda’s funeral and $0 to support her daughter’s finish their schooling.

This fundraiser and any donations is specifically for Kelly and Erin. They will use for their mother’s funeral. Any money leftover after the funeral, will be for Kelly and Erin to use for school and self-care to get them through this difficult time.
