Story of Lake street cats is very heartbreaking. Both girls were found on lake street in Brooklyn but avenues apart. First it was Chelsea who cried for two days without food before she was finally rescued. Then Kelly was found by pure chance—sitting weak, skeletal, and forgotten in a box outside after what the vet believes may have been a long period trapped somewhere without proper food or water.
Kelly came to me in heartbreaking condition. For the first two days, I had to syringe-feed her because she was too weak to eat on her own. She was dangerously dehydrated and severely emaciated. Her first emergency vet visit cost $500, and while her prognosis is thankfully good, her recovery will take time, special food, and follow-up medical care.
She is now finally eating and slowly getting stronger, but there is still a long road ahead. We are also preparing for Chelsea’s upcoming veterinary visit to make sure she gets the care she needs too.
Any donation, no matter how small, will help cover Kelly’s medical expenses, prescription recovery food, and Chelsea’s vet care. Thank you for helping give these two sweet girls a second chance. ❤️
