Kelly should be at home right now, soaking in those newborn moments with her baby.

Instead, she’s spending her days at the NICU, now staying there day and night, doing everything she can to be there for her son, Isaac.

What was supposed to be a joyful time quickly turned into a medical crisis.

Kelly had a high risk pregnancy that led to a traumatic delivery, followed by serious complications that required another surgery just days after giving birth. While trying to physically recover, she has also been navigating the emotional toll of having her newborn in the NICU.

Isaac has been fighting hard since the moment he was born.

Shortly after birth, he developed a severe infection called Necrotizing Enterocolitis (NEC), which required strong antibiotics and sedation for several days. During that time, he was placed on a ventilator to help him breathe while his tiny body worked to heal.

On top of that, Isaac was diagnosed with a congenital heart condition called Bicuspid Aortic Valve, along with narrowing of both his aortic and pulmonary valves.

Once he was strong enough and able to fight off the infection, doctors were finally able to perform the procedure to open his aortic valve, and thankfully, it was successful.

After weeks of uncertainty, there is finally some progress.

Isaac is now off the ventilator and has begun slowly increasing his intake through a feeding tube. These are huge milestones, but he still has a long road ahead before he can safely go home.

Because of Isaac’s condition and her own recovery, Kelly has been unable to return to work. The medical crisis has created a financial strain that is now putting them at risk of losing their home, something no family should have to face while fighting for their child’s life.

This is where we are asking for help.
