Support Kelli’s Top Surgery
Donation protected
Hey, I’m Kelli! I’m a non-binary trans person fundraising for a better life. Since 2020, I have known that gender-affirming top surgery is something I need to feel comfortable in my body. After two previous attempts in 2024 to get surgery were delayed, it’s finally my time! My surgery date is April 15th, and I hope to raise as much as possible before then.
I am fundraising to help cover my medical expenses, my living expenses for a month while I heal, and support expenses for my mother to travel from North Carolina to help me heal post-op!
By contributing to this fundraiser, you’re going to help take away all the mental gymnastics I do daily to remind myself I’m beautiful, I’m non-binary, that I deserve this care. No more arguments on whether I should wear a binder, no more discomfort every time I bend over. Just me seeing myself in the mirror as I know I’m meant to be.
Why I’m Raising $4,500:
- I currently work as a handyman and nanny, and am seeking full time work. Since all of my current work is physically strenuous, and I do not have employer provided time off, I need my community’s support to stay home for up to 5 weeks to properly rest. $2,750 of this fundraiser will go towards my rent, utilities, and student loan/previous medical debt for April/May.
- Even though I am so privileged to live in a state with insurers who understand the importance of this surgery, I have fees associated with the surgery that I can’t afford right now. I am willing to go into debt for this surgery that I need, but I’m hoping to raise $1,000 to cover my fees, post op appointments, and medical supplies so I don’t add to my existing medical debt.
- I hope to raise another $750 to support my awesome mother in staying in Massachusetts for two weeks to help me post-op, drive me to appointments, and help take care of my dog, Duke! My mother was laid off from her job in December 2024, so I want to help her with travel and lodging.
Since my last surgery date was delayed, it has been hard to feel as beautiful as I am, but I know this time it’s going to work out! I have a great community in you, my supportive mother, and my good health to get through this amazing experience.
Thank you for helping me realize my dream of being me!! I could not be more grateful for your support.
Note 2/28/25: per the advice of a friend who has had top surgery, I have raised my goal to facilitate staying home longer than 3 weeks, to provide more time to heal. Previously, my goal was $2,500.
