I come to you with unexpected news and a sincere request for support. I have received a last-minute opportunity for a gender-affirming procedure, and while it's a moment of great significance and hope for me, it comes with unforeseen financial challenges. My surgery date is set for April 8th, and I am reaching out to you for assistance in covering the costs of lost wages and essential supplies during my recovery period.

While Medi-Cal covers the majority of the operation costs, due to the necessary recovery time of 3-4 weeks, I will be unable to work. I unfortunately do not have paid time off to rely on during this period, as I’m an independently contracted mental health worker, thus the financial burden associated with this process has become an unexpected obstacle.
