Support Ke'iwi's Journey from Rescue to Hero

Aloha!!,

I’m a college student living in Hilo, Hawaiʻi. I’m starting this fundraiser to help cover the vet bills and training costs for my incredible rescue dog, Ke'iwi. He has been through so much already and has so much love to give.

Ke'iwi was found abandoned at a beach in Hilo, severely underweight with his ribs poking out and slightly blind from fire ant venom.

His doctor believes he was a hunting dog that was dumped after he got injured. He had fractured ribs, likely caused by being rammed by a boar. Despite his rough past, Ke'iwi is the most loving, mellow, and well-behaved dog you could ever meet. He has no reaction to other animals or distractions, which makes him an ideal candidate to be both a service and therapy dog.

I live with major depressive disorder and generalized anxiety disorder, and having Ke'iwi certified as my service dog would make an incredible difference in my daily life. He would help me feel more confident and supported wherever I go. Additionally, I hope to train him as a therapy dog so we can volunteer to bring comfort and joy to others in hospitals or care homes.

As an independent college student, paying for school is already challenging. I pay for tuition on my own, and I’m currently searching for a job to help cover my living expenses. Covering the costs of Ke'iwi’s medical care, training, and certifications is a significant financial strain.

Your generosity will help ensure that Ke'iwi gets the medical attention he still needs as he recovers from his past life and help cover the expenses needed for him to become both a service dog for me and a therapy dog for our community.
