Support Keith's Recovery Journey
Donation protected
On Sunday, June 30, Keith had emergency cervical surgery. His symptoms of tingling in the hands began on Wednesday, June 19. Keith’s symptoms progressed rather quickly over the next several days. By Saturday, 6-29, Keith could barely walk and had been using a walker since Wednesday, June 26. Deb took him to the ER department at Burnsville Ridges. After much testing and waiting for the results of the MRI, Keith was admitted to the hospital as he could no longer ambulate on his own. Once the MRI was read he was transported to Fairview Southdale at 4 am to be seen by the neurosurgical team. Dr. Bennett performed C3 to C6 laminoplasty to relieve the spinal cord compression.
Keith has received amazing care from the Burnsville Fairview Ridges and the Fairview Southdale Medical Teams. Keith and Deb truly appreciate the care he has been given by the doctors, nurses, nursing assistants, PT, OT, social services, etc.
On Friday, July 5, Keith was transferred to Fairview Acute Rehab to continue his recovery. He will work on regaining the use of his arms and hands, and strengthen his legs to be able to walk on his own again. We ask for everyone’s continued prayers so he can return home soon to Deb and Lexa (3 year old German Short Haired) who misses Keith terribly. Keith and Deb continue to be surrounded by their loving daughters (Heather, Kim, Melissa and Jenny and their families). Keith and Deb continue to receive support from their parents Marilyn (Keith’s mom) and Cracky (Deb’s dad) and their siblings (Dawn, Jim, Mike, Jean & Susie and their families), and the St. James Lutheran Church Community.
This will be a long journey as Keith had just closed the doors to his business of 30 plus years on May 31, and was in the process of looking for a new career opportunity to start (currently put on hold indefinitely pending his recovery). If you would like to donate to Keith’s Go Fund Me, we truly appreciate your kindness and support. We know and believe God is opening a window/door to a new adventure for Keith, Keith will continue to listen and watch for that opportunity as he grows stronger every day!
