RALLY AROUND KB: SUPPORT HIM IN HIS FIGHT AGAINST TERMINAL CANCER
When we first created this GoFundMe earlier this year, Keith had recently been diagnosed with Stage 4 prostate cancer and was beginning chemotherapy. So many friends, family members and members of the community responded with incredible generosity and support.
Unfortunately, there is now a heartbreaking update to share.
Despite treatment, Keith's cancer has progressed and spread, including an aggressive and rare cancer found in his liver. Keith has learned that his cancer is terminal, with his medical team estimating a life expectancy of approximately eight months to a year.
For those who know Keith, you know he is one of the most positive and giving people you will ever meet. As the leader of the nonprofit No Xcuses Alterations, Keith has dedicated himself to empowering others to pursue their goals and become the best versions of themselves. He is a true coach at heart—mentoring kids through lacrosse and basketball and making a difference in the lives of young people, particularly those in underserved communities.
Now, as Keith faces this incredibly difficult next chapter, his need for support has become much greater.
**Keith is now no longer able to work at all.** He was able to work only three days during the entire month of August, and as his health has declined, working is simply no longer possible. With no employment income, Keith is now relying on savings that are rapidly being depleted to cover his everyday living expenses while also facing the financial burden that comes with his illness and treatment.
When we started this fundraiser, we could not have anticipated how significantly Keith's circumstances would change. Given his prognosis and his inability to work, we have increased the overall fundraising goal to $75,000, which includes the generous contributions already made.
The additional funds will help with medical and treatment-related expenses as well as everyday living costs. Most importantly, we hope to relieve as much financial pressure as possible so Keith can focus his time and energy on his health, his family and the people who mean the most to him.
To everyone who has already donated, shared this page or supported Keith: thank you. Your generosity has already made a meaningful difference, and we don't take that support for granted.
But Keith's circumstances today are very different from when we first asked for help. We're asking his community to rally around him once again. Whether through another contribution, a first-time donation or simply sharing his story, every act of support matters.
Keith has spent years showing up for others. Now is our opportunity to show up for Keith when he needs us most.
