Support Keith Johnson’s Family

My name is Miranda and I am Keith and Laura Johnson’s daughter. Since being diagnosed with gastrointestinal cancer in February 2022, Keith has been on a roller coaster ride trying to fight the monster. Through his 4 rounds of chemotherapy, he had many ER trips and hospital stays. Unknowingly, He was internally bleeding nearly the whole time. On May 25th, the only surgeon who was capable of doing the complex Whipple surgery, began the procedure that would end up taking 9 1/2 hours to complete. The cancer had spread to his liver, gallbladder, stomach and surrounding areas. The hospital is an hour drive each way, in Elgin, and Laura has made that drive nearly every day since May 25th. She would go to work, drive home to let the dogs out, drive the hour to the hospital, stay until visiting hours were over and drive home. Throughout Keith’s recovery from the surgery, he has had setback after setback. Ultimately his body wasn’t strong enough to heal and his liver is shutting down. After 7 long weeks of fighting in the hospital, Keith and his doctors have concluded that all they could do has been done and his cancer has progressed further.

With all of the emotional pain and stress that this has brought, it also brings financial burdens. We are trying to raise money to help with any costs incurred and to help wherever needed.
