Keisha Smith is my niece and a single mother of two wonderful girls. For nearly two years, she has been fighting an incredibly tough battle with cancer. It began with breast cancer, which led to a double mastectomy, and just a few months later, she was diagnosed with lung cancer. Despite these overwhelming challenges, Keisha has shown remarkable strength and resilience, enduring numerous surgeries and ongoing treatments.

Recently, Keisha has encountered an unexpected expense that is affecting her home. She has not been able to work since May 2024 and has been relying on long-term disability assistance to get by. Her current treatment involves lung chemo medication, and the mounting medical bills, combined with daily living costs, have made things even more difficult. This new expense has come at a time when she has no resources left to draw from, and with the rising cost of living, it’s simply impossible for her to cover it on her own.

I am so proud of Keisha for the way she has managed through each hurdle, especially as a single mother. She has always put her daughters first and faced every challenge with courage.
