Support Keisha's Battle Against Breast Cancer

Hi everyone, my name is Alizé, and I'm reaching out on behalf of my strong and resilient mom, Lakeisha (everyone calls her Keisha). She has been bravely fighting stage 3 breast cancer while still working to provide for our family. As a single mom raising my two younger siblings, she's always put everyone else first, showing immense courage and strength.

My mom's journey has been filled with challenges. When she was young, she was tragically hit by a motorcycle outside her family's home. The impact was so severe that she had to relearn how to walk and talk. Over the years, she has faced numerous health issues, undergone multiple surgeries, and struggled with her mental health. Through it all, she has remained steadfast, offering support and care to those around her, even when she had little to give.

Currently, I live in California while my mom is in Virginia, over 2,800 miles away. Since I don't live close at the moment, I'm doing everything I can to support her from afar.

That's why I've started this GoFundMe—to help ease the financial burden so she can focus on her recovery and being there for my siblings. Beyond covering medical expenses and essential costs, I want my mom to have the opportunity to truly heal and enjoy life, not just survive. She is 46 years old, and it saddens me that when I ask her what she enjoys, she can't give me an answer because she's been in survival mode her whole life. It's heartbreaking to think that her life has been so focused on just getting by that she hasn't had the chance to experience true joy and fulfillment.

Living in survival mode for so long has deprived her of the simple pleasures and experiences that make life meaningful. It's crucial for her well-being to move beyond merely surviving, especially now as she battles cancer. We want her to feel the warmth of joy, the excitement of new experiences, and the comfort of knowing she's cared for and supported. It's time for her to have the space to breathe, to discover her passions, and to experience life in ways she never has before.

2. Travel Costs: Assist with the expenses of traveling to and from treatments and medical appointments.

4. Quality of Life: Enable my mom to spend quality time with her four children, go on a family vacation, or even simply buy an outfit she really likes instead of just what's on clearance. I'd love to fly her out to California, where I've lived for four years, as she and my siblings have never been able to visit. We want her to experience more than just survival; we want her to live fully and happily.
