At just 20 years old, Keely, a bright and driven Butler University student with dreams of a future in medicine, has been diagnosed with small cell carcinoma. This devastating diagnosis has abruptly changed the course of her life, replacing classes, exams, and career aspirations with hospital visits, aggressive treatment, and an uncertain road ahead.
Keely is the kind of person who radiates warmth, possessing a smile and a laugh so infectious that you can’t help but join in, regardless of your mood. Her heart is filled with nothing but pure kindness; she is a gentle soul who consistently puts others—even total strangers—before herself, never weighing the personal cost of her own generosity. Whether she’s goofing off and making memories with her brother or sharing jokes and laughter with her KKG "family," her loyalty to those she loves is undeniable. This compassion extends to all living things, as she has a beautiful, natural affinity for animals, and they seem to sense her goodness, returning her affection in equal measure.
She is surrounded by a loving family who is walking every step of this journey with her. Her mother, Stacie, a lifelong sonographer who has devoted her career to caring for others in their most vulnerable moments, is now pouring that same compassion and expertise into caring for her daughter. Keely’s father, Scott, has been a constant source of strength, steadfast, and support as he helps navigate the countless decisions, appointments, and challenges that come with this diagnosis. Her brother, Kale, stands by her side with love and encouragement, offering comfort, laughter, and strength during even the hardest days.
Due to the complexity and severity of this cancer, treatment will require multiple trips to MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas, one of the leading cancer treatment facilities in the world. These trips will span months and possibly longer, creating a significant financial burden. Costs will include travel, lodging, meals, medical expenses not fully covered by insurance, and lost income due to time away from work and school.
This will be a long and difficult journey, physically, emotionally, and financially. Your support will help ease the burden so Keely and her family can focus on what matters most, healing, hope, and time together. Every donation, share, and message of encouragement makes a difference.
Thank you for standing with this family during an unimaginable time. Your generosity brings hope, relief, and strength when it is needed most.
