Support Keely and Thomas' Medical Recovery

Hello Everyone, sometimes life deals unexpected challenges to good people with overwhelming consequences. That's what my best friend Keely and her husband Thomas Kim had to face at the beginning of this year, 2024.
In February, Thomas suffered a freak accident at his work site when he snapped and tore his Achilles tendon to his right foot. This painful and debilitating injury forced Thomas to stay off his feet. Soon after the injury, Thomas underwent surgery to connect the torn tendon in his heel. The surgeon told Thomas that with physical therapy the healing process would be slow, taking, at least six months to a year to fully recover.
On March 13th, Keely received the shocking unexpected diagnosis that no one wants to hear, "You have cancer!" Keely was informed that she had Non-small cell lung cancer: (Mucinous Adenocarcinoma), stage 3b. Keely, a non smoker, underwent surgery on April 2nd, just 2 1/2 weeks after being diagnosed. During the operation, the medical team discovered that the cancer was more advanced than first anticipated. The decision was made by the surgeon to remove the lower half lobe of the left lung to ensue that all the cancer cells were removed.
Keely's surgery was a success! The post surgery pathology report showed no cancer to her lymph nodes. Additional tests for genetic markers were negative. Thankfully, Keely won't need chemotherapy, radiation, or any immunotherapy treatment. That said, she is still required to undergo imaging scans every 6 months for the next 3 years. Keely's' unwavering positivity and determination, along with the surgeon's aggressive decision to remove the 1/2 section of the lung, led to the best possible outcome.
Following their surgeries, both Keely and Thomas had to rely on each other the best they could. During their recovery and healing, they reached out to their village of family and friends, reluctantly asking for help with meals, transportation to doctor appointments, and anything else that was needed. The village was pivotal to their continuing recovery and supported them unconditionally. Everyone who is a part of the village is greatly appreciated and loved!
In the end of April, Thomas was able to physically return to work with mobility restrictions. Keely continues to recover from her major surgery. They are doing much better in their physical recoveries and are grateful for all the help they have received so far. Their untimely circumstances have created a deep financial burden for medical payments due to the healthcare costs for the surgeries, hospital stays, doctors' fees, and required testing. We would like to raise $40,000 to help Keely and Thomas cover some of the overwhelming medical bills and alleviate some of that stress. Any amount given is humbly appreciated.
Keely and Thomas, along with their daughter Hunter are beyond grateful for all the love, prayers, and support from all of you, their Village! It truly takes a village of special people believing that we all can help one another in time of need.
Thank you so much!
