I'm Lori Iverson and my grandson Keelin Iverson had an accident on my treadmill. He is 5 years old and knew better but he's 5. He and his brothers were visiting us for a summer vacation. His parents live up in Trinity County a 10-hour drive from here on the Central Coast.

After taking him to the ER here on the Central Coast he had to go by ambulance to Bakersfields burn unit. From that point he needed to go to the Shriners burn unit in Sacramento. He was sent back home with us, and his parents came down to pick him up and take him up to Sacramento to the Shriners Burn Unit. Unfortunately at this time his parents (my son and his wife) car was in need of repair so they borrowed a friends car. The the burn unit is 5 hours from their home each way. Our sons family has endured a lot of cost, and are in need of getting their car repaired. They will incur a lot of expenses going back and forth to appointments, and getting the car fixed, and some medical or ambulance bills. Anything will help them in this time of need and would be very appreciated.

UPDATE on Keelin. On July 24th Keelin arrived at Shriners children's hospital in Sacramento. He had his skin grafts done on August 1st. He stayed at Shriners until the 10th. Boy was he happy to be home and to see his pets and friends. But he still has quite a road to go, he'll be going back down to Shriners for a checkup this Friday the 16th. These trips to Shriners will be weekly and will go for 3 months so you could imagine the expense on a 5-hour each way trip.

I want to send out a special thank you to Shriners Hospital, for their excellent treatment and care. I don't know what we would have done without them they're a blessing to have, for the children. Also a big thank you to everyone who has donated, I send my love to all of you
