Erica and I are raising funds for hospital bills, hotel rooms and traveling expenses for Keegan's time in Omaha. Doctors are expecting 7-10 days at UNMC between ICU and recovery. Then 4-6 weeks of bed rest and recovery at home.
During this time Erica will be taking FMLA and I will be working as much as possible in Omaha.
Keegan and his tumor...
Over the course of the last month, it was discovered that Keegan has loss of vision and the underlying cause is a mass that you see in the photo below. The loss of vision was found during his MEPS process to enlist in the Air Force. Subsequent testing has determined the mass to be a pituitary macroadenoma, and further classified as a Prolactinoma as of today. He has an amazing treatment team at UNMC in Omaha, and we are moving forward with a medication to shrink this tumor. There is a secondary surgical plan in place if they feel that the medication is not adequately reducing the size of the tumor. Please lift Keegan, our family, and his care team in your prayers.
UPDATE:
Keegan had his recheck on Thursday and Friday of last week. While the medication is working to shrink the tumor, it has not relieved the pressure on his optic nerve. His vision tests did show improvement, which is very hopeful. His team recommended moving forward with surgery in order to have the best chance of vision recovery. The tumor is scheduled for eviction on February 25th. Thank you all for your continued prayers and generosity! We will continue to update on his journey in the coming weeks.
