Hello friends and family-
We are creating this fundraising campaign because we are in need of a new van for Keegan.
As you may know, when he first came home we used Metro Mobility to get him to his appointments. A simple one hour appointment could take all day due to the shared ride model. After a few other transport fiascos we bought his current vehicle.
While we appreciate the Polar Express, our nickname for his current van, it is just not practical for his needs. It is a converted cargo van with a high top, which does not travel well in the snow or in windy conditions, which pretty much sums up the weather in Minnesota.
In addition to the poor handling, this vehicle has a platform lift this gets Keegan into the vehicle. It's a mechanical hydraulic system and we have gotten stranded with him in the past. It's not a fun scenario being out in the world with him and a disabled vehicle.
We'll be replacing it with a mini van which will have a manual ramp, no mechanics involved, which should make it a little more reliable.
For those of you who are new to his journey, Keegan was in a motorcycle accident in 2015 and is 100% disabled due to a traumatic brain injury. He has complex medical needs and also needs to have 24/7 monitoring due to his seizure disorder.

As you can imagine modified vans are very expensive, which is why we've created this fundraiser. If you are able to donate, we greatly appreciate it. If not, sharing this fundraiser is helpful too.
