Hey Everyone!
Every year the students of the Kealing Middle School Algebra 2 class come together to create an entirely student-led final project that inspires the next generations of Kealing students.
This project is part of the amazing curriculum developed by Presidential Award–winning teacher Patty Hill, and gives students exposure to valuable life skills that are not taught in traditional math courses such as team collaboration, money + time management, and STEM. The final project serves as an amazing way for students to learn, grow, and prepare for real life situations.
This year, the Algebra 2 class is building a physical Harry Potter inspired hourglass set, which will be used to count points during the inter-class competition. During this competition, classes are rewarded points for work ethic, mathematical ability, and willingness to take on challenges; every class wants to have the most!
This hourglass set is a fun and unique way to let students visually see their progress. It also encourages them to complete their work effectively and efficiently during class, making the multiple advanced math courses offered at Kealing more interesting and fun.
All funds raised will go directly towards buying the much needed materials for the project including building supplies (tubes, wood, cutting tools), technological components (motors, Arduinos, buttons), paint, and sand.
By donating, you are giving talented STEM students exposure to valuable life skills such as team management, time management, and team collaboration. Know that every donation is advancing the future generation of scientists, engineers, and mathematicians!
Thank you so much! - Kealing Middle School Algebra 2 Class of 2026
