Hi, my name is Keaira, and I’m humbly asking for help to save the home I inherited from my mother. My mother was a military veteran who had just purchased her home. After her tragic passing in a car accident, I took on the responsibility of managing her affairs while grieving an unimaginable loss. Shortly after her burial, I was involved in a serious car accident that nearly claimed my life and left me unable to work for months.

As I worked to recover and get back on my feet, I became pregnant and was soon placed on bed rest due to a high-risk pregnancy. I was again out of work for several months before and after giving birth due to complications. Most recently, my son and i were involved in yet another car accident, which has forced me to take additional time off to heal and recover.

Through all of this, I’ve done everything I can to stay afloat. But with very little childcare, medical bills for me and my son who experiences seizures, household expenses, legal responsibilities tied to my mother’s estate, and the needs of my son as a single mother, I am overwhelmed. Now, my home-the one place that holds memories of my mother and represents security for my child- is under foreclosure.
