At just 15 years old, in December 2025, my son, KeAaron, was diagnosed with a tumor of the spinal cord. After biopsy and research of the findings, he was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive cancer known as Diffuse Midline Glioma (H3K27M mutation).
What started as simple knee pain quickly turned into something far more serious. Within a short time, his life—and our family’s life—changed forever.
KeAaron is a bright, loving, and resilient young man who brings joy to everyone around him. He is a loving and amazing son, brother, grandson, nephew and cousin; truly a light to everyone in our family and a great friend. He enjoys volleyball, music and gaming. Those who know him describe him as kind, funny, strong, determined. He has dreams of becoming an architect and even through this fight, he continues to show incredible strength.
Before his diagnosis, he began experiencing symptoms that many might overlook. The first noticable symptom was simple knee pain. At first, Doctors believed it might be a torn MCL. When scans only showed inflammation, we were hopeful it was nothing severe. KeAaron started physical therapy. As time went on and his symptoms worsened. Simple knee pains quickly turned to numbness, tingling and weakness in his lower limbs. He also experienced difficulty walking and maintaining balance. All leading to the devastating diagnosis that changed everything.
We are sharing these symptoms to help raise awareness for other families because early signs can be easy to miss or easily misdiagnosed.
Diffuse Midline Glioma is a fast-progressing cancer that affects the brain and spinal cord. It is caused by a rare genetic mutation that happens unexpectedly, meaning there was nothing that could have been done to prevent it. Because of how aggressive it is, it requires immediate and ongoing treatment.
KeAaron has completed 5 weeks of radiation therapy and his fight against cancer is not over. Each day comes with new challenges but he continues to face them with courage.
I am KeAaron's mother, and right now, my entire world is focused on helping my son fight this battle.
I am by his side every single day—through doctor visits, treatments and hospital stays—doing everything I can to support and care for him. Watching your child go through something like this is something no parent is ever prepared for but I am staying strong for him.
Because of the level of care he needs, I have had to step away from work, which has made it extremely difficult to keep up with everyday responsibilities. My focus is making sure my son is getting the care, comfort and love that he needs during this time.
I am asking for help so that I can continue to be there for my son without the added weight of financial stress.
Funds raised will go toward:
Medical treatments
Travel and lodging for specialized care
Medications and therapies
Daily living and household expenses
Allowing me the time to care for my son full-time
No parent should have to choose between caring for their child and worrying about how to manage financially—but this is the reality we are facing.
We are asking for your support, prayers and compassion as my son continues to fight this battle.
Any donation—no matter how small—will make a meaningful difference. If you’re unable to give, please pray for KeAaron, his family and consider sharing this fundraiser with others.
Thank you for standing with us during this incredibly difficult time. Your kindness, love and support mean more than words can express.
