Jayhawk nation and the Jackson community:
Anyone who knows Cassandra “KC” knows how selfless, generous, and full of light she is. She’s the kind of person who always shows up with a smile, a helping hand, or simply kind words — even when she is going through her own challenges. Now, KC needs our help more than ever!
KC and her husband Jason, are the proud parents to Halla and Darius. Darius, their youngest, will be graduating from Vandercook Lake High School May of 2026. If you have shopped at Pollys Country Market, either Ferguson Corners or Vandercook Lake, you probably have shared a few stories, laughs or waves with KC. If KC is not at work, KC is often found in the bleachers of Vandercook Lake High School cheering on her Jayhawks!
As many are aware, KC was recently diagnosed with Stage 3 Invasive Carcinoma this past July. She has already undergone numerous surgeries, a single mastectomy and more surgeries to come. In the next few weeks she will begin chemo and radiation for the next 6 months. Treatments are not only going to take a toll on her physically and emotionally but also financially. Despite her remarkable strength and optimism, the medical bills and expenses are already mounting and the time off of work has created a significant financial burden. Also, the holidays are right around the corner, this adds stress to their financial situation.
Kc and her family need our help. Any amount you can give -whether it’s $1 or $100- all donations will go directly to KC and her family to help with any treatment costs, medications and living expenses during this difficult time. The last thing we want KC to do is worry about their finances!
If you are unable to donate right now, please help by sharing this page with your friends and family- that means the world! Every bit of support, kind words and prayers will help bring KC one step closer to healing. Please continue to pray for healing and for God to guide her medical team.
