K’Brianna is my sweet friend who has recently become a single mom. Like so many, she planned for a typical labor and delivery experience, but on February 19, 2026, her world changed. K’Brianna delivered a beautiful baby boy, but complications arose when he aspirated fluid during delivery. He was immediately placed on a ventilator and admitted to the NICU. Within hours, he began having seizures. The dedicated doctors and medical staff worked tirelessly to stabilize him, and further testing revealed that the lack of oxygen during and after delivery caused a moderate to severe brain injury.
Since then, K’Brianna and her baby have been at UAB, facing a long road of medical appointments and therapies, even after discharge. The emotional and financial toll has been immense. Due to these unforeseen circumstances, K’Brianna cannot return to work as planned and urgently needs reliable transportation to travel the two hours to Birmingham for her baby’s care. Although she has applied for assistance, there is a processing period, during which rent, utilities, and basic living expenses still need to be covered.
I am asking for donations to help K’Brianna with her rent and utilities for the next month or two. The remaining funds will go toward securing a reliable car and auto insurance, ensuring her baby can attend all necessary medical appointments. They say it takes a village to raise a child, and I am calling on our community to be that village. Any amount you can give will make a difference. If you are unable to donate, please leave an encouraging message and share K’Brianna’s story. Let’s show this new momma what a village can do! Thank you, everyone, for your kindness and support.
