Support Kayleigh’s Comeback

We’re coming together to support our friend and teammate Kayleigh Tonks, following a devastating knee injury sustained while playing football for the Winchester City Flyers.

Kayleigh is a well-known and respected footballer and futsal player across Hampshire. Over the years, she has represented clubs such as Portsmouth FC Women, Southampton Sirens, Moneyfields Women, and most recently the Flyers. Alongside her success in football, she has been a standout player for Southampton Aztecs Futsal Club, competing at the highest level in the Tier 1 National Futsal Series.

Anyone who has played with or against Kayleigh knows exactly what she brings to the pitch. She’s relentless, the kind of player who never stops running, never gives up on a ball, and sets the standard through her effort and determination. She’s the teammate you love to have by your side and the opponent you dread facing. With her quick feet, pace, and direct attacking style, it’s no surprise she’s one of the most fouled players around.

Sadly, during a game against Oxford City Women, one bad tackle changed everything. Kayleigh suffered a serious injury to her ACL, MCL, and meniscus, an injury that will keep her off the pitch for a long and difficult period of recovery.

This couldn’t have come at a worse time. Kayleigh was in incredible form, playing some of the best football of her career. The Flyers were pushing for promotion, and the Aztecs were on track to reach the playoffs for the first time. Her absence will be deeply felt across both teams, not just for her ability, but for her energy, determination, and presence.

Off the pitch, Kayleigh works in a nursery caring for young children. Due to the severity of her injury and the surgery ahead, she will be unable to work for several weeks, creating a significant financial strain alongside her recovery. To make matters more difficult, the current waiting time for surgery on the NHS is around 18 months, meaning Kayleigh has no choice but to go private if she wants to begin her recovery and return to normal life as soon as possible.

We’re raising funds to support Kayleigh through this challenging time, helping cover the costs of surgery, rehabilitation, physiotherapy, and everyday living expenses while she focuses on getting back to full health.

If you’re able to donate, no matter how big or small, it would mean the world. And if you can’t donate, simply sharing this page would make a huge difference.

Let’s come together for someone who has given so much to her teams, her sport, and everyone around her, and help her get back to doing what she loves.
