Love is not as easy as it looks in the movies.

'Falling Behind', written and directed by Kayleigh Pierce, is a thesis short film about a queer woman, Iris, struggling to connect with her peers in a very heterosexual environment. Feeling left out after quite literally everyone around her gets themselves into relationships, Iris believes it is finally her turn. When she starts falling for a girl in Ballroom Dance Club, Iris gains the slightest bit of hope that things might turn around for the better. Despite yearning for a romantic relationship, she learns what she truly needs is a friend who understands what she is going through.

'Falling Behind' is a fifteen-minute short film that explores the struggles of finding someone to connect with as a young, queer woman.
