Hi, I’m Kayleigh, proud cat mom to two rescues, Moon and Magik.
I don’t usually ask for help, but right now I’m in a very difficult season and I can’t do it all alone.
Our Story
Moon was found abandoned on the streets of Los Angeles at just 4 weeks old. She was feral, covered in fleas, and barely surviving. Our vet told me she wouldn’t have made it if I hadn’t brought her in that day. I truly saved her life.
Magik was the shyest cat at the shelter, always hiding in the back of her crate. The staff said she was often overlooked, but when I walked in, she came right up to me. I knew instantly she was meant to be part of my family.
Together, they’ve brought me endless love, healing, and laughter, and they’ve gotten me through other very hard times.
Why I’m Asking for Help
This is not easy to write. I’ve always worked hard to stay independent, but lately life has become overwhelming in ways I can’t keep up with.
The job market has been really tough. I’m applying, interviewing, and picking up side work where I can, but nothing has turned into steady income yet. I’m still actively looking for work and doing everything I can, but right now I just need some help to get by and survive this season.
On top of that, I lost my health insurance and only recently got new coverage that doesn’t include certain specialists I need. I’m still facing past-due medical bills, including an extremely expensive emergency room visit that completely knocked me down.
Between rent, bills, and the rising cost of living, I’ve reached the point where I can barely afford food for myself and I’m still trying to keep up with Moon and Magik’s care: food, litter, wellness items, and vet visits.
This truly feels like my last option, and I’m turning to this community for help in keeping us safe and stable while I keep pushing forward.
How You Can Help
Any contribution, big or small, will go directly toward:
• Rent and essentials to stay secure
• Medical bills and unexpected health expenses
• Food for myself, and food, litter, and vet care for Moon & Magik
Even $5 helps cover a meal, a day of litter, or part of a bill. If you’re not able to donate, simply sharing this page or sending love means just as much.
✨ From My Heart
I hesitated to start this because asking for help is so hard, but I’ve realized it isn’t selfish. Community is about showing up for each other, and I’ve always tried to show up for others. Now I’m learning to let others show up for me too.
My hope is that with this support, I can get through this season, stay secure in my apartment, and continue job searching and rebuilding stability for myself and my little family.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for reading, supporting, and caring. Moon, Magik, and I are endlessly grateful.
Kayleigh, Moon & Magik
