Anyone that knows the struggles we have had with Kaylee will be happy to hear that she is doing amazingly well. She will be out of behavioral school officially as of Nov. 22, 2024, and will begin public school that next Monday.

To recap... When we moved in with Shawn and tried enrolling her into the local school, we were told nope, she has to attend a... well... public behavioral school in Detroit. Mind you... we just left her Community Mental Health therapist and case manager, a police department that was already aware of her, and a round with CPS. So now she has a 45 min drive to and from school every day. And this was going to continue until, well, she proved that she isn't a danger to herself or others. They would teach her, help her, but she has endured bullies in the kid cab that took her to and from school, and she was singled out a few times at school. Along with her own behavioral issues, it's been a long road.

We are so proud of the progress and growth she has made. She is fun and friendly; kind of shy but will respectfully respond. She loves animals, especially horses. She is happy and has friends. She has gone to her first high school football game, her first after-school function, and now she has the opportunity to go with her new 8th-grade class to... Washington D.C.

But at the current time, I am unable to afford to send her on this very deserved trip. I know these are tough times for all, but if anyone could help send my girl to see our nation’s capital, we would greatly appreciate it. Thank you, God Bless, Go Lions!
