Support Kaylee and Karen’s Medical Journey

This has been a difficult decision in making this go fund me. Kaylee and I have had a difficult time the past few months and we have been struggling with our health and financially. We had to move and had a hard time finding a place to meet our needs and budget. I was bed ridden for over a month with major back problems and not able to work a summer job as planned. I’m still not capable of doing much and just have gotten to the point I can walk around and move more. I had an MRI and found that I have a slipped disk pinching on a nerve and will need surgery in the near future. In the meantime, I am doing physical therapy and going to pain management incurring more medical bills. We have had extra unexpected expenses with the move as well given my physical condition. Kaylee has several chronic illnesses that affect her physically such as juvenile rheumatoid arthritis. During the move she had to do a lot of physical hard work to help get things done and taken care of which wore her body out and sent her into a slight flare with her arthritis. Kaylee was just starting to recover from the move and then Tuesday/early Wednesday this week, Kaylee was admitted to the hospital with COVID, a skin infection called cellulitis from an incision , and unknown severe stomach issues. Due to the infection and so many severe conditions her body was going / is going through at once her other autoimmune condition called Graves’ disease which affects her thyroid went into thyroid storm which cause intense concern and treatment as it affects her heart severely. She is still currently in the hospital and will be there a few more days at least waiting for tests results and receiving treatment such as intense antibiotics through IV , medical for her thyroid , and pain management to get to a stable place and be able to come home. This has put an HUGE amount of extra stress and financial strain on us as well as physically. We have never been the type of people to ask for help like this and we have a hard time asking for any type of help unless it is to help someone else. It has taken a LOT for my daughter and I to do this and accept that we’ve run down to our last option(s). So, if you are in a stable place to be able to help us, we would be so grateful and appreciative.
