My wife Kayla has faced an unimaginable health crisis this year. On January 3rd, 2026, she was rushed to the ER after becoming gravely ill from alcoholism. Since then, she has battled pancreatitis, liver failure, kidney disease, pneumonia, ARDS, and a rare brain stem injury called osmotic demyelination. Kayla has spent months in two different hospitals, an LTACH, and is now just days away from leaving a nursing home and physical rehabilitation center. Throughout this journey, she has endured ventilators, a tracheostomy, dialysis, and even seizures caused by high ammonia levels in her blood.
One of the most incredible parts of Kayla’s recovery has been watching her relearn to walk. She lost a lot of muscle during her time in the hospital, and physical therapy has been a long, challenging road. It hasn’t been the scariest part of her journey, but it’s been the most amazing to witness. Her motivation to keep pushing forward is truly inspiring. Anyone who knows Kayla knows she is strong, fiery, and hard-headed—qualities that are helping her fight every day.
Thankfully, insurance has covered much of her care, but the bills are still piling up—medical treatments, multiple ambulance rides, and ongoing recovery costs. We are asking for help to cover these expenses so we can focus on Kayla’s recovery and our family’s future.
Kayla is incredibly motivated to stay sober and get stronger. Her health struggles have inspired her to pursue further education, giving her hope and motivation for the next chapter. Your support will not only ease our financial burden but also help Kayla believe in her dreams and our future together. We are deeply grateful for any help you can offer.
