Hello, my name is Amy, I am the younger sister of Kayla.

Kayla has been going through a medical crisis since the beginning of 2025. What started as cramping and swelling of the leg and toes and become a series of medical issues ranging from multiple seizures within a day, to intolerable pain and weakness. My sister has been advocating for herself medically from day one with so many doctors and medical professionals excusing her issues to being female and anxiety causing these issues.

She has finally gotten an appointment with the Mayo Clinic in Florida due to there only being very few doctors in the world who know about her possible diagnosis, the others being out of country. As of today Kayla and her fiancé, Anthony, along with some friends and family have been helping her get by to figure out transportation, care for herself and son, along with many other day to day activities. Stress is a huge trigger for her seizure activity and I am doing what I can think of the alleviate that as much as possible.

Kayla has had to give up driving for the safety of herself and everyone on the road. She has yet to be approved for long term disability due to not having a set diagnosis. None of the providers she has seen are willing to diagnose or provide treatment due to their unfamiliarity with this.

She will need to cover travel expenses, lodging and food while traveling to the Mayo Clinic in Florida. She also has normal monthly and daily expenses that are becoming harder and harder to finagle with the small amount she was receiving from disability. Any little bit helps even if you just are able to share this post and get the word out. If you would like to educate yourself on her tentative diagnosis it is called CASPR2 positive Morvan Syndrome, there is so much unknown about this disease and even more unknown with her age, sex, and race.
