Kayla is new to our community, but she quickly became a friend because of her warm and welcoming spirit. She and her family have always been the kind of people who would give the shirt off their back to a stranger, and their kindness has touched many. Recently, Kayla and her son were involved in a horrific car accident while returning from visiting her grandmother in the hospital in Missouri. The accident left them with extraordinary medical expenses, including being life flighted to Iowa City, multiple surgeries, her son’s treatment and hospital stay at a hospital in Ft Madison, Iowa, and the added burden of needing to replace their family vehicle. There will also be future visits to care for their injuries and ongoing recovery as Kayla has suffered from some memory loss.

Kayla home schools their boys, while her husband Nik works for Big River Resources in Galva. The financial strain from the accident has been overwhelming, and the family is facing significant challenges as they try to recover and rebuild. The money raised through this fundraiser will go directly toward covering the medical bills for both Kayla and her son, helping to ease the burden and allow them to focus on healing.

Kayla and her family are such sweet people and are new to our community. They’ve seen the support Galva has had for others, and they are so deserving of the same love.
