My daughter, Kayla Jo, is in her 30s—a single mom to two beautiful little girls—and she is fighting stage 4 angiocarcinoma. When you hear the word cancer, it feels overwhelming. Like being handed a giant quilt you never asked to make. At first, all you see is how big it is. How heavy it feels. How impossible it seems. But then you learn something: you do not get through a journey like this all at once. You take it piece by piece. Day by day. Stitch by stitch. That is what this quilt represents.
This beautiful quilt was lovingly created and gifted by Kayla Jo’s grandmother, a professional quilter with more than 75 years of quilting experience. She is 82 years old, has been quilting since she was 9, and spent 35 years teaching sewing in public schools. She has poured a lifetime of skill, service, and love into this quilt, and now she has gifted it to help raise support for Kayla Jo.
We are raising funds to help secure stable housing for 12 months for Kayla Jo and her two little girls, so she can have one less burden on her heart and mind while fighting this battle. As a thank-you, we will be giving this one-of-a-kind quilt away to one supporter. No donation is required to enter or win. To enter for free, comment “QUILT FOR KAYLA JO” or message me your name. Donations are voluntary gifts to support Kayla Jo and her family and do not increase your chances of winning. If you feel led to donate, thank you. If you cannot donate, please share. Many of you know me through LF Staffing… today I’m simply asking as a mom. Let’s surround Kayla Jo with love she can feel—one stitch at a time.
