For most of my life, I’ve felt invisible—crushed under the weight of bullying, mental illness, and the unbearable loneliness that comes with being misunderstood. I was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder and severe depression, a combination that stripped me of my confidence, my voice, and, for a time, my will to keep going.
I’ve been pushed to the edge by workplaces where I was belittled, ostracized, and made to feel small. The world became a series of closed doors, and every step forward seemed met with another reason to shrink away. But in the silence, I turned to words.
Poetry became my lifeline. It gave me a place to pour the pain, the longing, and the overwhelming emotions I couldn’t explain any other way. Slowly, through every line and verse, I began to find myself again.
Now, I’m ready to share my story. My debut poetry collection, The Art of Holding On, is a raw, unflinching look at love, longing, and survival. It’s a reflection of the struggle to hold onto hope when everything inside you is screaming to let go.
I’ve started sharing my work on Instagram (@poetrybykaylafoor) and will release an ebook soon to give readers an early glimpse. But my dream is to create something tangible—a physical book that holds my heart on every page. I want these words to live in the hands of those who need them, a reminder that even in our darkest moments, we are not alone.
What Your Support Will Do:
Help cover the cost of professional printing to create high-quality physical books.
Fund the design and layout of a book that visually reflects the raw emotion of my words.
Support marketing and outreach to connect this work with others who feel unseen, unheard, or forgotten.
This isn’t just about a book—it’s about proving to myself and others that our voices matter. It’s about reclaiming the narrative after years of being silenced by fear, shame, and stigma. Your donation isn’t just funding a creative project—it’s helping me take one more step toward healing and showing others they can do the same.
Every dollar is a piece of this dream brought to life. Thank you for helping me share these words, this story, and this truth.
With love and gratitude,
