On November 7th, the world lost someone truly special. Steve was out on his usual walk with his dog, Randell, when the unthinkable happened. He was struck by a car, and both he and his beloved pup Randall passed away. It was sudden. It was tragic. And it shattered the hearts of everyone who loved him.

I’m writing this as a close family friend who has known and loved Kayla and Ashley for so many years, and my heart is completely broken for them. I’ve seen firsthand how deeply their dad loved them it showed in every decision he made, every sacrifice, every smile. Steve was the kind of father who loved with his whole heart. He was so proud of the women they’ve become, and he absolutely lit up any time he talked about his grandkids. His love for his family was undeniable.

To so many of us, Steve wasn’t just a friend or a neighbor, he was family. Losing him this way feels unreal. And now, on top of their overwhelming grief, Kayla and Ashley are faced with the unexpected burden of ongoing expenses for Steve’s home along with funeral and memorial costs things no one is ever prepared for, especially after such a sudden tragedy.
