Support Kayden's Fight Against Brain Cancer

Let me start by saying I’m not the best at this, and I will try to tell the story of the events to the best of my ability and keep it as short as I can. My name is Hannah, and I’m starting this fundraiser on behalf of my little brother, Kayden, whose life took a very unexpected turn recently.

Before I go into everything, I want to let you all know a little bit about him. Kayden is 17 years old and the baby of our family. He’s the sweetest and most loving kid I’ve ever known, always making the people around him laugh and would give anyone the shirt off his back if he knew it would help them have a better day or make an impact in their lives. Kayden attends Richmond High School and has plans to join the Marines when he graduates. He loves playing video games, building Legos, listening to music, collecting vinyls, and spending time with his family and friends.

Kayden became sick in January of 2025 with what started out like any other illness, just vomiting and fatigue. As time went on and nothing improved, my mother started getting him into the doctor to try and figure out what was causing him to become so ill. After multiple trips to the doctor, we weren’t getting any answers. That’s when things started getting worse. He started getting really bad headaches, and his vision was crossing. Then, in a matter of a week, his eye started turning in towards his nose, and we knew we needed to act fast. Finally, he was able to get in for an MRI, and that’s the day everything changed.

On 2/11/2025, my mom got a call from our family doctor telling her she needed to get him to Riley as soon as possible because they found a large tumor on his brain. Once there, they were able to release the pressure that was building and ultimately saved his vision, and his life, but that also came with the news none of us wanted to hear: Kayden has brain cancer. He has now been through three surgeries in the two weeks he’s been at Riley Children’s Hospital, and this is just the beginning. Kayden will have to undergo months of radiation therapy, multiple more surgeries, tests, and trials in different states. Throughout this they won’t be able to stay near home.

We are all preparing for more appointments, surgeries, treatments, and travel than we can imagine. So, I’m creating this to help relieve the stress of how we as a family are going to balance the cost of all of the travel, treatment, food, having a place to stay, and keeping everything taken care of at home regarding my mom’s house and all the bills there, and any other expenses that we may not know of yet. We want to do everything in our power to give my little brother the best chance of living a long, full life and help him beat this. He is a strong kid, and he needs all the love, support, and prayers from everyone around to help guide him through this journey.

We hate asking for help, but in this desperate time of need, it is all that we can do. I want to go ahead and thank everyone in advance for even taking the time to read his story, and if you can’t or don’t wish to donate to his cause, please share and spread the word. Our family is grateful for all the love shown for Kayden in his time of need. God bless, and may He guide us all through this difficult time.
