Support Kayden's Battle Against Rare Cancer

Hello All, my name is Nathan James and I am doing this for my friend Wayne and his son Kayden. The following information is from Wayne:

“Kayden Higgs age, 11

He has cordoma cancer...super rare 1 in a million people get it each year.

It all started with him having these neck aches and his throat was hurting. He had strep throat before so we thought nothing of it. Also, he likes to play his tablet alot so we thought his neck may have been hurting from that. It got to the point where he has a doctor’s appt set up to possibly have his tonsils taken out. However, things took a turn for the worst when he went to school one day. Kayden went to the nurse’s office, and the nurse called us up and said "you have no option...which hospital we taking him to". We thought he had strep throat, but turns out there was a huge mass in the back of his throat that was hurting him. The ambulance took him to Arkansas Children's Hospital, and that day we found out some of the worst news I have heard in my life. Kayden has cancer, and we were devastated. He has had to have 2 different surgeries one of which is depicted on the pictures on the back of his neck. The other on the front. He, also had to have a tracheostomy and he can't speak at this point. This is not something any parent prepares for, ever. The expenses are getting overwhelming to say the least. When he leaves here he will need alot of care as well. The form of cancer he has is one that is very, very rare for a kid that is 11 years old to get. I hate even asking for help, but between gas, food, taking care of other things with my other kids, not being able to work, and medical issues/bills it's really tough. Kayden is a trooper, and he is hanging in there. Radiation is planned very soon to possibly get the rest of the cancer.
