Support Kaydence Brim’s Fight Against Leukemia

Donation protected
My name is Bernita Stewart, and I’m fundraising on behalf of my 9-year-old niece, Kaydence Mone Brim, who was recently diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia on October 8th, 2025.

Kaydence is not just a child in our family she is a light in a family of 20 grandkids, and one of those rare souls who brings joy everywhere she goes.

Kaydence is a straight-A student, a hip-hop dancer, she’s a proud big sister to baby Kashton, just 7 months old, and when she holds him, she turns into a protector, a nurturer, a caretaker beyond her years. And to me? She’s a piece of my soul walking around with so much personality.

Just days ago, everything changed.

While at work, my sister Wayneisha Wandick (Kaydence’s mother) received a call telling her to take Kaydence to the hospital immediately due to abnormal bloodwork. We thought it would be a quick visit. Maybe a mix-up. Maybe nothing.

After being transferred to Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center, we heard the words no one is ever prepared for:

“Your daughter has Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.”

In that moment, our world broke.

Kaydence has already endured panic attacks because of tests, needles, and long hospital stays, but she’s fighting with more courage than most adults. While we try to stay strong for her, we are screaming on the inside.

Wayneisha is a single mother who just started a new job with the County of Kern. She hasn’t even been there 60 days and was working so hard to finally give her kids stability. Now she has to stop working to care for Kaydence full-time while also raising her infant son.

She will be traveling back and forth from Bakersfield to Los Angeles in a car with over 110,000 miles, trying to manage medical visits, rent, gas, food, and life.

Despite everything, do you know what Kaydence is most worried about?

Not the cancer.
Not the pain.
Not the hospital.

She’s missing her brother, her cousins, home and going back to school.

She was just elected School Secretary this year something she was so proud of, but she won’t be able to return to school for the rest of the year.

With heart like Kaydence, she loves people, loves helping, loves learning and in our heart, she is just beginning.

She tells me,
“TT, I’m scared, but I know you’re praying. The devil won’t win.”
