My name is Lin Messerer.

I am the owner of my beautiful Alaskan Malamute, Kaya.

She has been a part of our lives for 2 and a half years.

She's a rescue from an organization, and her journey wasn't always easy for her.

At that time, we needed her as much as she needed us.

Bringing us to this situation:

We are in need of assistance with my Kaya's veterinary expenses, which have exceeded $1800 and continue to accrue due to daily IV medication and antibiotics required to treat a bacterial infection contracted from a possum.

The circumstances surrounding this incident were highly unusual and unpredictable.

Kaya's vaccinations were current at the time of her adoption;and now but, however, I had not previously focused on leptospirosis and had no knowledge of this bacteria. Through this GoFundMe, I aim to raise awareness about the vaccine and seek help with the costs.
