Support Kaya's Recovery After Train Accident
Donation protected
This GoFund me has been created out of love for my 21 year-old niece, Kaya Phoenix Cooley, and her family. On Wednesday July 2nd, at 3:30pm, while walking home from work and waiting for a train to pass on Mission Avenue in Oceanside, she thought it was safe to cross after the first train went by. Unfortunately, she was struck by the second train traveling in the opposite direction. Witnesses report that she was unaware of the approaching train. Kaya was airlifted to Scripps La Jolla Hospital, where she is currently fighting to recover in the ICU. She has sustained numerous injuries and has a long road to recover ahead of her. Kaya will require multiple surgeries and is currently in an induced coma. We do not have a timeline for when she will wake up. We are praying for her brain bleeds and swelling to subside and for her pneumonia to clear. One small step at a time.
Kaya is a local resident of Oceanside filled with excitement for her future as she was planning to enlist in the army this September. She is also a member of North Coast Church in Vista. Though her recovery journey will be long, doctors remain optimistic about her healing. Thank you for your prayers, positive energy and support. This Phoenix will rise from the ashes, every kind word and gesture of support means the world to Kaya and our family during this challenging time. Your generosity not only helps with the mounting medical expenses, but also provides a beacon of hope and comfort to Kaya as she fights to heal. Let’s rally together as a community to show Kaya that she is not alone in this battle and that her dreams and aspirations are still within reach. Please share this campaign with your friends and family to spread awareness and join us by lifting Kaya with collective love and strength. Thank you for taking the time to read this. If you are in a position to support Kaya‘s recovery financially please do so, any small amount will be greatly appreciated. Please send your prayers and pray for Kaya to heal!
