Hi, my name is Kayana, and I’m raising funds to help cover legal expenses as I go through a difficult and painful divorce — a journey that began after enduring emotional and financial abuse, and threats of physical violence from my husband while I was pregnant with our child last July.

He has made it clear that he doesn’t want to be a father to our newborn daughter, and has also withdrawn support from my firstborn — a child he helped raise for the last seven years. He’s not only walked away from our family, but also stripped us of stability, our home, and the future I thought we’d have together.

For the past year, I’ve been living pillar to post with my children — relying on the love and generosity of family and friends to keep a roof over our heads. Though we’ve been fortunate to stay housed, it has taken several relocations and we haven’t been able to secure a permanent place to call home. The uncertainty is exhausting, especially for two children who deserve so much better. We shouldn’t have to live in a homeless shelter.

Any monies raised will help my children and I retain legal counsel and cover court fees, as well as stabilize our housing and financial needs for a safer, stable present and future.
