Kay and Linus Schwartz have lived in Belmont for 40 years, building a life filled with love, family, and cherished memories. On December 7th, their world was turned upside down when a fire destroyed their home and claimed the lives of their two beloved dogs, Elsa and Jax. While we are so thankful that Kay and Linus are physically safe, the grief and loss they are experiencing is immense. Everything they owned was lost in the fire, and the home they treasured had to be demolished.

Kay and Linus have an adult son, Shawn, and daughter-in-law, Wendy, as well as six grandchildren who are rallying around them during this difficult time. The outpouring of support from friends, family, and the community has been overwhelming, and Kay and Linus are deeply appreciative of every kind word and gesture. As they begin the process of grieving and navigating the days ahead, it is hard to know exactly what type of help is needed. Right now, their most immediate need is to replace essential items—clothing, shoes, coats, gloves, socks, personal items, toiletries, and more.
