Kay, Benjamin’s mom, had a hemorrhagic stroke while on a business road trip across the US. She was traveling to help people who could not get the support they needed because of age or language barriers. That is who Kay is at her core, someone who has worked relentlessly to study, learn, and understand every part of her work so she could better serve others. While she was out giving so much of herself, everything changed in an instant, and now her family is facing a crisis they were not prepared for.

Kay is uninsured, and the family cannot afford the current cost of her care or the ongoing care she will need after she is discharged from the hospital.
