Hi, I'm Ivy Thompson, and I'm launching this GoFundMe campaign to support Katy’s Cat Charity Co.

Katy’s Cat Cafe (KCC) has reached a critical moment, and we urgently need our community’s help. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, their mission is to help stray and surrendered cats find loving forever homes while educating the community about rescue, fostering, and compassionate animal care.

Local animal shelters are facing unprecedented levels of overcrowding, which makes rescue organizations like KCC more important than ever. By stepping in when shelter capacity is limited, KCC serves as a vital safety net, preventing cats from becoming further caught in an overwhelmed system while giving them the individualized care and attention they need to thrive. Our work therefore extends beyond the cats directly in our care: when KCC takes in a foster, it creates space and opportunity for the broader local rescue community to continue saving lives.

But to continue being that resource for our community, KCC needs immediate financial support to carry us through the coming months. As local shelters face unprecedented overcrowding, the need for rescue partners who can take in, rehabilitate, and rehome cats has never been greater. KCC plays an important role in helping meet that need, but we cannot do it without your help.

Your donation will help preserve a crucial local resource for rescued animals who might otherwise have nowhere to go. Supporting KCC means helping us continue to take pressure off overcrowded shelters and give vulnerable cats the compassion they need to thrive.

• We provide food, litter, toys, treats, bedding, and shelter

• We create job opportunities for the Sarasota community and entrust cat care to people passionate about our mission

• We host community events to increase visibility and foster connections between the community and our cats

• We serve as a community hub where local businesses and artists can showcase and benefit from their work

• We provide overflow shelter, accommodating and rehabilitating five stray cats and two senior cats who were rejected by rescues due to capacity constraints
