On August 14th, our two-time double lung transplant and kidney transplant warrior received the news that her newest battle was against Stage 4 B-cell lymphoma that had already spread throughout her abdomen and chest. She is currently inpatient on continuous dialysis and starting the first of 6 cycles of an aggressive chemotherapy regimen.

The outpouring of love and support that Katy, Joey, and the entire family has received since her newest diagnosis has been unbelievable. So many friends, family, even strangers sending love and prayers provides hope in times of despair. Your messages of encouragement are giving Katy the OOMPH needed to get through the long days and nights in the hospital, away from her precious Riley.

Many have reached out wanting to send gifts, food, or monetary support and so we thought that this might be the best way to organize our efforts.

Katy has a long road ahead of her, and we are not sure what her future needs will be, but she wants to make it known she plans on fighting like hell to get well again, and to be able to get back to living her happy life with the family that she adores so much (and a family that adores her so very much).

Please feel no pressure to donate, as this initiative was in response to the many inquiries we received. Above all else, please keep Katy in your thoughts, keep praying, and keep sending OOMPH.
